Emirates introduces Mobile Boarding Pass

Emirates customers departing from Emirates Terminal 3 in Dubai are now able to receive a Mobile Boarding Pass (mBP) on their web-enabled phone or mobile device after having checked in online.

The mobile boarding pass (mBP) contains a unique barcode according to the IATA standard (Resolution 792) that may be electronically scanned at the security checkpoint, and acts the same as a boarding card or e-boarding pass. The customer doesn’t need to print out a boarding pass and just needs their mobile boarding pass (sent to them on their mobile), and their passport.

Mobile boarding passes can initially be issued for all single sector flights departing Dubai only.

Mobile Boarding Pass is currently not available when:
  •  Departing from any airports other than Dubai
  •  Transiting Dubai.
Mobile Boarding Pass is never available when:
  • Traveling with Infants (normal online check-in is still available)
  • Traveling as an unaccompanied minor.
  • Traveling in a party that is larger than 9 passengers.
  • In need of special assistance (Wheelchair, Medical cases etc).
  • Traveling as deportee/inadmissible passenger.

Passengers with hold baggage to check-in
May deposit their baggage at an Emirates Check-in Counter or Self-Service Kiosk, scanning their mobile boarding pass in either location.

Passengers with hand baggage onlyMay proceed directly to security and immigration.

Customers should have their passport ready on arrival at Security, together with their mobile boarding pass on their mobile device screen ready to scan at the Security and then Immigration scanners.

More departure airports will be added in the coming months as part of a phased rollout.
